At Signal Health Tusmore, practitioners privately bill for appointments, which includes fees for face-to-face, phone, or video consultations. The cost of your visit will depend on the type of appointment and the day it's held. Full payment is required on the day of your visit, and our admin team are here to assist you with your Medicare claims, ensuring you receive your rebate in a timely manner.
You have two options for receiving your Medicare rebates:
Easyclaim: An instantaneous refund directly onto your Savings or Cheque card through our Tyro Payments System. This means no more waiting for your rebate—you’ll receive it on the spot (please note that while payments can be made using any method, refunds cannot be directed to a Credit account).
Registered Account with Medicare: Alternatively, we can submit your claim online to Medicare. The rebate amount will be deposited directly into your nominated account, typically within 48 hours. Be sure to register your bank details with Medicare to make this process hassle-free.
Please keep in mind that if you haven't had an in-person appointment at the practice in the last 12 months, you will need to do so before becoming eligible for a rebate on any telehealth consultations. Also, please note that some Medicare item numbers may not support Easyclaim, particularly when further assessment is required.
Please remember to bring your Medicare and Concession cards to your appointment.

Practitioners charge a fee to ensure you receive the best possible care during each visit. While Medicare provides a rebate, it doesn’t cover the full cost of delivering high-quality healthcare, which includes having experienced staff, fit-for-purpose facilities, and the latest technology to support your health needs. By charging a fee, we can invest in our practice to provide personalised, efficient, and thorough care. This allows us to spend more time with you and offer a wide range of services to support your well-being. We know that not everyone may be able to afford or choose this type of care, and we completely understand. Our goal is to offer the highest standards of healthcare to those who seek it, while ensuring that our practice remains a place where you can receive thorough, reliable, and comfortable care whenever you need it.

In addition to your regular appointment fees, there may be some extra costs for certain treatments or procedures, including dressings, iron infusions, private vaccinations, minor surgical procedures, or specialised care from your practitioner or our nursing team. These fees cover the cost of materials, equipment, and the additional time needed to provide safe and effective treatment. The exact cost can vary based on the type and complexity of the service you need. If you have any questions about potential charges for your treatment, our team is here to help you understand any additional fees that might apply, so you have a clear idea of what to expect.

Some fees may apply for services provided when you don’t have an appointment with your practitioner, such as writing referrals, renewing prescriptions, transferring medical records, or any other task not covered by Medicare. These fees help cover the time and resources needed to complete these tasks efficiently, even when you’re not visiting our practice. We understand these might not always be expected, but these services still require careful attention from your doctor or our admin team to ensure they’re done right. If you have any questions about potential fees, our team is here to provide more details and clarify any costs that might apply.

If you’re a regular patient who lives close by, and your doctor agrees to arrange a home visit, please note there will be a fee for this service. Home visits involve additional time and travel for your doctor, which is why they carry a charge. The cost will vary depending on the length and type of visit. A summary is below:
