We are very excited to share that Dr Ajay Chowdhry will be joining our Signal Health Tusmore team in mid-August.
Dr Chowdhry brings more than 21 years of general practice experience in Mildura, along with a broad range of clinical interests and a strong commitment to patient-centred care.

Get to Know Dr Ajay Chowdhry
With over 21 years of general practice experience in Mildura, Dr Chowdhry is a highly experienced General Practitioner known for his compassionate, patient-first approach. As a former Practice Principal and a long-standing Visiting Medical Officer, Dr Chowdhry combines clinical expertise with a commitment to holistic, evidence-based medicine.
Dr Chowdhry believes in the power of continuity of care — building multi-generational trust with families to manage health through every stage of life. His philosophy is rooted in ethics and integrity, ensuring that every patient is heard, understood and treated as an individual, rather than just a set of symptoms.

MBBS, MHSc, FRACGP
Clinical Interests and Expertise
Dr Chowdhry’s clinical interests include skin cancer medicine and surgery, women’s health — including menstrual disorders, contraception and menopause management — and paediatrics. He is particularly passionate about chronic disease management, including weight loss and metabolic health, including diabetes.
His background as a Senior Resident in Paediatrics at Mildura Base Public Hospital has fostered a lifelong dedication to children’s health. He has a deep interest in psychological medicine and previously provided mental health and sexual health services to young people at Headspace. He also holds specific certifications in Mental Health Skills Training and Youth Mental Health, as well as the FPAA National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health.
Clinical Leadership and Sports Medicine
Beyond the clinic, Dr Chowdhry served as a Visiting Medical Officer for over 12 years at Mildura Private Hospital and holds a Certificate in Sports Medicine. He assists patients with acute injury management, musculoskeletal rehabilitation and injury prevention.
A dedicated mentor to the next generation of doctors, he has supervised GP registrars for the RACGP and ACRRM colleges. He also holds a Master of Health Sciences from La Trobe University.
Personal Life
Outside of medicine, Dr Chowdhry is a devoted family man. He is married with two sons — one pursuing Aerospace Engineering in Sydney and the other studying at St Peter’s College. A passionate sports enthusiast, he is a huge fan of AFL, NRL and cricket.
Dr Chowdhry is proud to provide inclusive care to our diverse community and is fluent in English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada, as well as holding basic proficiency in Japanese.
We are very pleased to welcome Dr Chowdhry to Signal Health Tusmore and look forward to the experience, warmth and care he will bring to our practice.
